How people access support

To access support from Watcombe Circus, you will usually need to be referred to us by a social worker.

We will arrange a meeting so we can find out more about each other. We can also arrange a visit so you can take a look around before any decisions are made.

How we can help

We provide people with long-term accommodation, and ongoing support - this can be both in group sessions and on a one-to-one basis. We can also offer short-term accommodation if this is required.

We encourage everyone who lives here to express their views and wishes which can be through our regular house meetings “Speak Out Saturdays” or on a more personal level if this is what you prefer. We respect everyone’s choices and respect that we are all different. It would be very boring if we were all the same!

You will have a named keyworker who will support you through the move and whilst settling in so you can build a good rapport with them to make the process a little easier for you. They will then work with you to develop your support plans and capture your goals and aspirations, putting them into action so you can achieve them. Your goal will then become a plan as without a plan, it will only ever be a goal.

We will also help you with social aspects of your life and will support you to try new things and continue to do the things you have always enjoyed. We will ensure you feel included and are at the centre of your care and support.

Accommodation

There are 12 bedrooms at Watcombe Circus. We are accessible for wheelchair users as there is a lift to all floors and ramps into the building.

The communal areas include a kitchen, dining room, two lounges and an activity room. There are bathrooms to all floors, some with showers over the bath. We also have wet rooms. We have a quieter area on the top floor if this is needed and has a table and chairs where you can enjoy some peace and quiet.

There are two patio areas to the side of the home and a lovely sensory garden at the front of the home where you can relax and make use of the scented flowers and plants. If you make use of our gardens, you will likely see some of the wildlife that likes to join us, we have lots of squirrels and birds that come to visit us.

We are close to Sherwood and Arnold and have bus stops nearby. If you are unable to use public transport, we are able to arrange other transport for you such as taxis. Also not far from us, we have Nottingham town centre which has a range of different shops and cafés.

Our CQC rating

We are regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). They publish the most recent CQC report about Watcombe Circus on their website.

Meet the manager, Rachel Platts

I have worked in the care sector since 2004 in different roles. I became a registered manager in 2018 in a service for young adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

I joined Watcombe Circus in 2021 as the registered project manager. I aim to make people feel at ease as I appreciate how daunting new journeys and change can be.

I would like to assure people that behind the building of Watcombe Circus, we have many different personalities that are all respected as equals and our backgrounds are what makes us who we are. We strive to meet your needs and wishes and will put you at the centre of everything we do.
